We hope this finds you and your family in good health. We have all been through some very challenging times over the last few months, and are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your care and safety.
Following the Prime Minister's announcement on 28th May the Chief Dental Officer of England has stated that dental practices can reopen from Monday 8th June, giving very little notice. To do this safely, we decided to accept patient phone calls from 15th June and we will gradually open our doors to patients from Monday 29th June once we have the correct PPE and safety measures in place. We will not allow patients to attend unless they have contacted us beforehand.
Due to a very high demand on PPE we can only offer a very limited service initially, but we have been working very hard behind the scenes to align with Public Health England so that when we do fully reopen you can be confident of our commitment to you in our excellent standards of care and infection prevention control. Initially we will prioritise patients who have had dental problems during lockdown, those who need treatment completing and those who have urgent dental needs; check-ups will be put on hold for a while and we appreciate your understanding in this.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits. Our infection control processes are followed stringently so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We would like to share with you our infection control procedures to assure you of our commitment to keeping you, your families, and our team safe.
Our practice follows infection control recommendations made by the Infection Prevention Society’s HTM 01-05 guidelines, and follow their activities so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to their recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
Please note that appointments booked prior to the announcement of lockdown on 23rd March may now not be kept due to the way in which we are planning on reopening and the types of procedures we are able to deal with. Please do not attend for a previously booked appointment unless you receive a reminder or a telephone call from a team member.
We look forward to welcoming you back and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, our team, and every patient, safe in our practice.
